Job description

Under the supervision of the management team and in collaboration with the assistant department managers, the fresh produce manager will be responsible for the management of three departments; bakery, deli and ready-to-eat. His/her mandate will be to provide outstanding business readiness and customer service at all times. Are you passionate about food? Tasks and responsabilities: 

  • Plan, organize, direct and control the operations of three departments containing more than thirty (30) employees;
  • Ensure adequate leadership by developing the skills and motivation of his teams;
  • Define objectives and roles, clearly communicate expectations to his teams while providing them with the necessary feedback for continuous improvement;
  • Ensure excellent customer service and business readiness throughout the operations;
  • Ensures the management of purchases, inventories, price lists, according to established standards to ensure and profitability;
  • Applies and respects the budgets related to each department as well as the salary productivity;
  • Ensures compliance with IGA Extra policies and procedures;
  • Respects and ensures compliance with government health and safety standards as well as occupational health and safety standards;
  • Manages loss prevention (theft, inventory loss, breakage);

 

Required qualifications:

  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience in food staff management;
  • Have a high school diploma, college diploma or equivalent;
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, ability to calculate profit margins;
  • Be a natural leader;
  • Ability to communicate ideas;
  • Teamwork is part of your daily routine;
  • Teamwork is part of your daily routine; Be autonomous, have excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Customer service is one of your priorities;
